if you're ever in central iowa, the best bbq restaurant i've found is hickory park in ames, iowa.
you'll be lucky if you wait less than 30 minutes for for a seat but it's worth the wait. having to wait that long for a seat is a good sign that it's a popular place and they have really good bbq.

Nice. Thanks for the recommendation. I've never been to Iowa, but that place sounds like its worth the trip.

yes it is! been to other bbq restaurants in the area but nothing has come close to being as good as hickory park.

Hickory Park is legendary - When I was a student there, I made my parents take me there when they came to visit me...

whenever my wife and i are visting friends up there, without question there is no other restaurant we go to other than hickory park just because the food is so good.
